    Prescription Supply Policy

    Last updated: 2 August 2026

    This Prescription Supply Policy explains how Botanica Wellness Pharmacy reviews and supplies prescription medicines. It should be read with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

    1. Valid prescription requirements

    We only dispense prescription medicines against a valid Australian prescription issued by an appropriately registered health practitioner. This includes paper prescriptions and electronic prescriptions (eScripts).

    A prescription must be current, clear, and complete. We may decline to dispense if:

    • the prescription has expired or is otherwise invalid;
    • details are incomplete, unclear, or appear altered;
    • we cannot verify the prescription or the patient as required; or
    • supply would not be clinically or legally appropriate.

    2. Age and intended use

    Online prescription ordering through our website is limited to patients aged 18 years and over. Prescription medicines must be used only for the medical purpose for which they were prescribed.

    3. Repeat prescriptions

    Where your prescription includes authorised repeats, you may request a repeat supply by uploading your script or eScript details online, or by phoning the pharmacy on 1800 960 949. Repeats remain subject to pharmacist review, stock availability, and the remaining validity of the prescription.

    4. Ordering repeats and new scripts

    You can:

    • upload a photo or PDF of a paper script, or enter an eScript token, via our upload script page; or
    • contact us by phone to arrange supply or discuss your options.

    Submitting a request does not guarantee supply. Our pharmacists must review every prescription before dispensing.

    5. Expired prescriptions

    We cannot dispense against an expired prescription. Unpaid or held orders remain available only while the prescription is valid. Orders are cancelled when the prescription expires. You will need a new prescription from your practitioner to continue treatment.

    6. Pharmacist discretion

    Supply of medicines is always at the professional discretion of the dispensing pharmacist. Pharmacists may contact you or your prescriber, request additional information, delay supply, or refuse supply where necessary to meet legal, ethical, or clinical obligations.

    7. Medication availability

    Some medicines may be out of stock or require special ordering. If an item is unavailable, we will advise you as soon as practicable and discuss options. We will not proceed with an alternative without appropriate clinical and legal basis and, where required, further authorisation.

    8. Identity verification

    Photo identification is required when collecting medicines from our pharmacy. Please bring a valid photo ID (and your Medicare card if you have one).

    If another person collects on your behalf, they must present written authorisation from you and their own photo ID.

    For deliveries, a signature is required on receipt. See our Shipping & Delivery policy.

    9. Regulatory compliance

    We dispense in accordance with applicable Australian and New South Wales pharmacy and medicines laws, Pharmacy Board professional standards, and the requirements of the Pharmacy Council of NSW. Schedule restrictions, recording, and storage rules apply to certain medicines.

    10. Privacy of prescription information

    Prescription and health information is handled as sensitive information under our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.
